And, thus, I blog.

It has been a long while since my last post. The truth is that it is hard to stay focused on what to do when you start out marketing oneself as …something (other than what you have been doing in the past). Do I just focus on painting and market myself as an artist (am I qualified to do that)?. Do I keep illustrating children’s books? Do I focus on getting followers on Instagram? So much options for someone who is easily distracted which can lead to sheer madness - always so busy yet achieving very little. Then on top of that there is always that voice of self doubt that messes one’s thinking.

My goal this year is to stay focused. Focusing on painting has never been a problem since my first inclination is to paint. I paint and paint and paint which produces stacks of paper* . But painting alone gets you nowhere as no one knows that you paint (duh!). My focus is to stick to a plan that will eventually lead me to achieving a goal. I don’t plan on making a lot of money painting or publishing children’s books, however, it would be nice if I could at least make enough money to keep painting. Paper, paints, mounting supplies, software, printers, website subscription, license fees and taxes - it definitely has become more than a ”hobby. “ So here I am committing myself to focus on activities that would let the world know that I exist and that I paint.

And, thus, I blog.

*Producing stack of paper is not at all environmentally friendly and a disservice to build a better world for my children and yours. This is a topic for a future blog.
