Dear Mr. Reynolds:

Yesterday, I received a holiday card from your company, Mint Mobile. On one side of the card, there was your unpretentious, yet nice head shot which truly conveys the “reflective and moody” 2020-year theme. I do not recall ever receiving a holiday card from a phone company, and I have used a few during my lifetime. My last experience with a phone company was to waste 20 minutes of my life “extracting” my account number information from a representative. Why on earth do you need to hide one’s account number? Oh, yeah, I used it to switch my service... My husband only wasted 30 seconds of his life to get his account number which makes me wonder if this was one of those privileges afforded to a white, male consumer.

One of my children, the first one to switch to Mint Mobile, also received a holiday card. Oh wait! My husband also signed up for the service, but he has not yet received one of these. I guess the perks of being a white male only go so far. Although I thought your photo was lovely, I did not sign onto Mint because I was star struck. I am at an age where most celebrities look like my children’s playmates (everyone looks so young; how did that happen?). You did, however, get my attention when you appeared on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Your statement that you did not like men because “they tend to be architects of the demise of others” was brilliant and it has stuck with me ever since. To have a CEO with this kind of perception and humility cannot be a bad thing. That interview convinced me to switch my service (and for your affordable plans for someone like me who avoids phone conversations). The alternative was to sign up for one of those services that provide flip phones with huge push buttons. I digress...

Again, thank you for the holiday card. I hope you keep your levelheaded thinking cap on as you become even more successful. Perhaps we will see a successful business that results in a win-win situation that benefits the owner/investors, employees and customers in a fair way. Now that’s a novel idea!

All the best,

YH

P.S. I hope you do not mind my posting a thumbnail photo of your card and subtly (?) showing my paintings in the background. I guess it’s all about business… 😊
