Kent Beauty (Oregano)

I am a terrible gardener. Whenever I come home from a nursery with bulbs, planters or seeds; my family look at my purchases with sympathy as they know each life expectancy is cut very short with someone like me in charge of their lives. There is one plant that has survived many years in my backyard - Kent Beauty of the Oregano family. I accidentally found it at a nearby nursery and was immediately taken by its subtle beauty (it was not in full bloom). It does well in a well-drained soil in a dry environment. My forgetting to water the plants in the summer heat actually serves it well and, thus, the reason it survives in my backyard. This year, again, it is starting to bloom and it will eventually display cascades of purplish pink flowers. Kent Beauty is elegant and gorgeous; yet it is also resilient and humble. I think the latter two qualities make the plant even more beautiful.
